✨ WELCOMING INCOMING CLASS K71 TO THE FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING – HUCE

In an enthusiastic atmosphere welcoming the new cohort of Class K71, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), in collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, organized the Civic and Student Orientation Week for the 2026–2027 academic year. The program aimed to equip incoming freshmen with essential information, guidance, and preparation before officially entering the university environment.

KEY ORIENTATION FROM UNIVERSITY LEADERSHIP

Addressing the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Phu Doanh – Vice Rector of HUCE – extended a warm welcome to all K71 freshmen and shared crucial insights on academic pursuits, personal development, and proactive engagement in a university setting.

The Vice Rector emphasized the importance of self-direction and personal responsibility in learning. He encouraged students to seize every opportunity offered by the university to not only master technical knowledge but also develop soft skills, resilience, and adaptability to meet the growing demands of modern industry and society.

Following this, faculty coordinators presented core contents of the Civic and Student Orientation Week, delivering essential regulations, student rights and responsibilities, academic guidelines, and key milestones to keep in mind throughout their upcoming academic years.

FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING – PREPARING FOR A 5-YEAR JOURNEY

During the session hosted by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Cao Thanh Dung – Dean of the Faculty – delivered a welcoming address to the new students.

Welcoming freshmen to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering family, the Dean congratulated Class K71 and shared his high expectations for the new generation. He affirmed that the Faculty will continuously support students, creating an optimal environment for coursework, scientific research, hands-on experiences, corporate networking, and holistic growth throughout their time at HUCE.

Next, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tinh – Vice Dean of the Faculty – provided Class K71 with comprehensive information regarding:

• Organizational structure of the Faculty and its affiliated academic departments;

• Undergraduate programs and academic majors offered by the Faculty;

• Career orientation, industry outlook, and employment opportunities.

This overview gave freshmen a clear perspective on academic pathways, engineering disciplines, and curriculum structure, empowering them to proactively plan their study and personal development strategies right from year one.

BRIDGING GENERATIONS – ALUMNI SUPPORTING STUDENTS

A meaningful highlight of the event was the presence and sharing of prominent alumni from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Le Manh Hung – Chairman of the Board and General Director of TCE Equipment and Services JSC, an alumnus of Class K41 – returned to his alma mater to share practical experiences, career insights, and words of encouragement with Class K71.

Drawing from his own professional journey, Mr. Le Manh Hung provided realistic insights into engineering education, entrepreneurship, and industry workforce expectations for future engineers.

Additionally, Mr. Bui Huu Long – Head of the Faculty Alumni Liaison Committee – emphasized the continuous commitment, mentorship, and solidarity of the alumni network toward current students.

During the ceremony, Mr. Le Manh Hung, representing TCE Equipment and Services JSC, presented awards to the top 7 matriculation scorers across the 7 academic majors of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

This award recognizes the outstanding dedication and academic performance of the incoming freshmen at the start of their university journey.
