1. Introduction

The Electrical Engineering Academic Teaching Group is part of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and is responsible for both undergraduate and postgraduate education across most programmes and specializations at the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE).

Throughout its development, the group has overcome significant challenges since its establishment during the wartime period. The founding generation — including Dr. Truong Tri Ngo, Dr. Do Xuan Tung, and Eng. Nguyen Van Thanh — laid the foundation for professional growth and academic excellence.

In the subsequent period, during the nation’s economic transition from central planning to market reform, the next generation of lecturers such as Eng. Ha Dang Cao Phong, Eng. Le Nho Boi, Eng. Do Van Thai, Dr. Ho Thi Ha, MSc. Vu Hong Du, and MSc. Dong Xuan Khang continued to develop the department academically and organizationally, contributing significantly to the growth of HUCE and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Today’s generation of lecturers has inherited these achievements and continues to innovate in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). Each member of the group is dedicated to professional excellence, teaching quality, and external collaboration with organizations such as:
CCU (Construction Consulting University Co., Ltd.), Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask JSC, Delta Construction Company, and CONINCO (Technology and Construction Inspection Consultancy JSC).
These collaborations focus on design, consulting, supervision, and implementation of M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) systems in civil and industrial projects.

In addition, the group’s lecturers actively participate in and lead scientific research projects, student research supervision, and have achieved high recognition in university and national-level research competitions.

The group’s main research and cooperation areas include:

• Optimal design,

• M&E system design,

• Control systems, and

• Automation in civil and industrial engineering.

2. Laboratory Facilities

The group manages two Electrical and Electronic Engineering Laboratories, both of which have been upgraded with modern equipment to support teaching and experimentation for all students across the university.
These laboratories also serve as venues for joint research and student–faculty collaboration in scientific and technological projects.

3. Achievements

With outstanding contributions to teaching and scientific research, the Electrical Engineering Academic Teaching Group was awarded the title of

🏅 “Excellent Working Collective” by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in the academic year 2012–2013.
