2. Overview of the specialization, training duration, and degree awarded

2.1. Specialization overview

The Construction Mechanization specialization provides students with fundamental, interdisciplinary, and major-specific knowledge, including in-depth expertise in civil and industrial construction.

Upon graduation, students in Construction Mechanization can work in construction-related fields such as: managing, operating, organizing, and supervising mechanized construction activities for civil and industrial projects; designing and manufacturing construction machinery and equipment; working in domestic and international enterprises in the construction sector; companies specializing in manufacturing and trading construction machines and equipment; technical safety inspection centers for machinery and equipment; as well as teaching and research at universities, colleges, and vocational institutions.

2.2. Training duration and degree awarded

  • Bachelor’s degree: 4 years

  • Engineer’s degree (equivalent to Master’s level): 5–5.5 years


3. Knowledge and skills acquired after graduation

3.1. Knowledge

  • Possess basic knowledge of political theory, social sciences and humanities; understanding of Vietnamese law, national defense and security; and maintain physical fitness. Graduates are expected to uphold civic qualities such as compliance with state policies, respect for the Constitution and the law, and a strong sense of discipline.

  • Have foundational knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering. Understand engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and other core subjects related to mechanical engineering and construction engineering. Also gain knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering, enabling graduates to expand into related fields in practice.

  • Be equipped with knowledge to work immediately after graduation in positions such as mechanical design, mechanized construction organization, construction machinery operation and management, mechanical equipment consultancy, and inspection of construction machines and equipment.

3.2. Skills

  • Develop essential social skills to work effectively in the specialization, related disciplines, and international environments. Ability to collect, process, and communicate information.

  • Possess professional foreign language and IT skills, enabling them to read, understand, and apply technical standards, regulations, and specialized documents in English.

  • Be able to work both independently and collaboratively in teams.

After graduation, students will be able to:

  • Select and arrange construction machines and equipment for construction projects.

  • Provide consultancy, trade, technology transfer, spare parts, and construction machinery/equipment services.

  • Manage machinery operations and supervise mechanized construction for civil and industrial projects.

  • After advanced training, work in machinery and equipment inspection institutions domestically and internationally.

  • Students with good academic performance may be directly recruited by companies upon graduation.

  • Join the labor market as mechanical engineering technical staff in Japan, Germany, ASEAN, and other countries.

  • Work as lecturers or researchers at universities, colleges, vocational institutions, and research institutes.
